Patient Advocate/Navigator
The Position
The patient advocate is in place to assist EWBC patients and families by providing support and information during the breast imaging appointment process and beyond, all while treating them as individuals with care and concern. In addition, this individual works closely with inter-office department personnel, referring physicians, and cancer support service groups to maintain the high level of patient care and satisfaction that EWBC is known for as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. The position is full-time (M-F).

MRI per diem Technologist
The Position
We are looking for a per diem breast MRI technologist. This position works with a team, using MRI to serve our high-risk patients. The position is 1-2 Saturdays per month.
General Responsibilities and Duties
- Review MRI procedure with the patient-
- IV skills required
- Perform breast MRI and be able to position the patient for the exam
- Work closely with other technologists, front office high-risk staff, and a Physician Assistant
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with regulations
Qualifications
- Current state licensing
- CPR certification is mandatory
- Breast MRI experience optimal but not required (willing to train)
- Injection certification preferred (willing to train)
- Self-motivated/independent and a team player
- Basic computer knowledge is necessary; familiarity with EHR and PACS systems is beneficial. Must be trained to learn and use Avairis system at EWBC
- Ability to maintain excellent customer service skills in a high-volume facility

Sonographer
The Position
We are looking to add a sonographer to our exceptional sonographer team to deliver quality patient care while performing diagnostic and screening breast ultrasounds and related diagnostic procedures. Candidate must have the ability to independently operate ultrasound equipment and assist physicians in the diagnosis process. Sonographers will receive extensive training upon hire. The position offers full-time days, with shifts ending no later than 5:30 pm, with no calls, holidays, or weekends.
General Responsibilities and Duties
- Contribute to quality patient care while performing ultrasound procedures
- Operate ultrasound equipment to perform screening breast ultrasounds
- Occasionally perform procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease (FNAC, cyst aspirations, and ultrasound core biopsy)
- Correlate mammographic and MRI information with ultrasound examinations
- Use independent judgment during the ultrasound exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings
- Complete medical billing forms, and maintain records, logs, and reports of daily work performed
- Reports directly to Ultrasound Department Manager
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program Registry eligible upon graduation
- Required to pass ARDMS Breast board exam within 6 months of hire
- Basic computer knowledge is necessary; familiarity with EHR and PACS systems beneficial
- Ability to maintain great customer service skills in a high-volume facility
MRI Administrative Assistant
The MRI administrative assistant will perform the daily administrative duties that serve our MRI patients. This individual is responsible for checking in MRI patients as they arrive for their appointment. They will also aid patients throughout their visit, ensuring comfort and care throughout their time within the building. They will assist the High-Risk Department by obtaining prior authorizations, reviewing and organizing medical records, and preparing specimen kits for send-out.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Retrieve and triage voicemails from patients and referring doctors’ offices
- Check-in MRI patients (~18-20 per day), and blood draw patients (up to 4 per day)
- Submit insurance prior-authorization paperwork
- Monitor daily dashboards
- Day ahead patient chart prep
- Electronic billing of services
- Maintain cancellation list and contact patients as last-minute appointments become available
- Prepare blood and buccal specimen kits
- Oversee consent paperwork for genetic testing
- Prepare patient educational materials for newly diagnosed patients
- Ensure the cleanliness of the waiting room
- Support an efficient, on-time daily schedule
- Stock gowns, juice, and snacks
- Scanning and faxing
Skills and Qualifications
- Associates degree
- 2+ years’ experience working in healthcare practice or hospital
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Attention to detail
- Superior customer service skills
- Basic understanding of computer technology
Performance Standards
High-Risk Administrative Assistants are expected to perform well in a team environment, also possessing the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The expectation is that the needs of the patient are always the priority. The ability to multitask and attention to detail is essential in this role. This position reports directly to the High-Risk Department Manager.
Patient Service Representative
The Position
We seek an energetic and compassionate Patient Service Representative for a full-time position in a fast-paced breast imaging facility (M-F, 8:30 am-5 pm). The ability to multi-task and attention to detail is essential in this role.
General Responsibilities and Duties
- Schedule appointments
- Check-in patients
- Verify and update patient information in the EHR system
- Collect co-pays and deductibles from patients at the time of appointment
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of medical office experience preferred
- Excellent customer service and strong communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge is necessary; familiarity with electronic medical healthcare record systems beneficial
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
