Elizabeth Wende Breast Care (EWBC) is a free-standing radiology practice that has provided the community with breast care for the last 40 years. It is an outpatient breast center of excellence, independently owned by a small number of radiologists. We offer patients screening and diagnostic same-day breast care and genetic workups. In addition, we are looking to add a sonographer to our exceptional sonographer team.

Position

  • Per Diem position (hours will be need-based and may vary days of the week)
  • Monday – Friday (no call, holidays or weekends, rotating shifts ending no later than 530pm)
  • Screening and diagnostic breast ultrasounds only
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Will receive extensive training once hired
  • Very fast-paced, team-based work environment

Location

The main office is located in Rochester, NY. Will be required to work at all satellite locations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
  • Registry eligible upon graduation
  • Required to pass ARDMS breast board exam within six months of hire
  • Reports directly to ultrasound department manager
  • Able to scan 17 patients per shift

The Position

We are looking for a full-time (M-F) medical assistant to assist radiologists with procedures and many other aspects of day-to-day operations. Must have a teamwork mindset but also be able to work individually.

General Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare exams in EHR/PACS systems
  • Prepare exam rooms and medical instruments
  • Assist physicians with workflow and procedures such as ultrasound, core biopsies, fine needle aspirations & cyst aspirations
  • Prepares specimens and paperwork for laboratory analysis
  • Schedule appointments and handle calls to patients, physician offices, and labs
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with regulations

Qualifications

  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Professionalism and friendly demeanor
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to aid in managing difficult/emotional patient situations
  • Basic computer knowledge; familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems beneficial
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • A basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, and coding procedures is a plus

The Position

We are looking for a full-time radiologic technologist with mammography experience preferred but who is willing to train. The position offers full-time days, no weekends, and no evening calls.

General Responsibilities and Duties

  • Contribute to quality patient care while delivering mammography procedures
  • Operates radiologic equipment and performs procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease
  • Review images for quality control
  • Troubleshoot equipment as needed

Qualifications

  • Two-year program with ARRT registration and New York State licensed
  • Basic computer knowledge is necessary; familiarity with EHR and PACS systems beneficial
  • Ability to maintain great customer service skills in a high-volume facility
