The Position:

The patient advocate is in place to assist EWBC patients and families by providing support and information during the breast imaging appointment process and beyond, all while treating them as individuals, with care and concern. This individual works closely with inter-office department personnel, referring physicians, and cancer support service groups to maintain the high level of patient care and satisfaction that EWBC is known for as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. The position is full time (M-F).

The Position:

We are looking for a full time (M-F) medical assistant who will assist radiologists with procedures and many other aspects of the day to day operation. Must have a teamwork mindset, but also be able to work individually.

General Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare exams in EHR/PACS systems
  • Prepare exam rooms and medical instruments
  • Assist physicians with workflow and procedures such as ultrasound, core biopsies, fine needle aspirations & cyst aspirations
  • Prepares specimens and paperwork for laboratory analysis
  •  Schedule appointments and handle calls to patients, physician offices and labs

Position Description:

Exciting opportunity for a board certified/board eligible genetic counselor or Nurse Practitioner with Genetics experience to join our Genetic Counseling and Cancer Risk Assessment Office. The genetic counselor will provide genetic education, counseling and psychological support to affected individuals as well as at-risk family members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide genetic counseling services for a wide variety of inherited cancer syndromes in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Work as part of a dynamic team under the supervision of a senior genetic counselor and in collaboration with a multiple-member support staff team.

Requirements

  • Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in genetic counseling from an accredited ABGC (American Board of Genetic Counseling) training program and be Board Eligible/Board Certified by ABGC or ACMG (American Board of Medical Genetics) OR a Nurse Practitioner experience in Genetics.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses and management plans in an easily understood manner.
  • Experience and/or interest in research is also desirable.
  • Candidates must have excellent writing skills.
  • Be able to work independently as well as with a team.

The Position:

We are looking for a full time Radiologic Technologist with mammography experience preferred, but willing to train. The position offers full time days, no weekends, no evening call.

General Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Contribute to quality patient care while delivering mammography procedures
  •  Operates radiologic equipment and performs procedures to assist physicians in diagnosis of disease
  • Review images for quality control
  • Troubleshoot equipment as needed

Qualifications:

  • Two-year program with ARRT registration and New York State licensed
  • Basic computer knowledge necessary; familiarity with EHR and PACS systems beneficial
  • Ability to maintain great customer service skills in a high-volume facility

The Position:

Seeking an energetic and compassionate patient service representative for a full-time position, (M-F, 8:30am-5pm), in a fast-paced breast imaging facility. The ability to multi task and attention to detail is important in this role.

General Responsibilities and Duties:

Schedule appointments

Check in patients

  • Verify and update patient information in the EHR system
  • Collect co-pays and deductibles from patients at time of appointment

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years medical office experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service and strong communication skills

The Position:

Primarily responsible for assisting technologists with procedures and patient flow. Assists department manager as needed.

General Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist technologists in various aspects of the department to optimize workflow and patient care, including, but not limited to:
    -Patient procedures, such as mammogram, bone densitometry and biopsies
    -Special needs patients
    -Updating patient information in the EHR as needed
  • Maintain core biopsy and mammography rooms by cleaning, stocking, and setting up
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies
  • Acts as a liaison between other departments

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or 1-3 years’ experience in medical office setting optimal
  • Ability to multi-task

The Position:

We are looking for a responsible, detail oriented and enthusiastic Medical Records Specialist to join our Records Department. This is a full-time position, (M-F, 8:30am-5:00pm, no holidays or weekends).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meticulously maintain physical and electronic patient records
  • Assist patients and outside facilities with the transfer of records
  • Accurately scan records into patients’ electronic health records
  • Must adhere to HIPAA regulations and policies

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or higher preferred, but not a mandatory
  • Valid New York State Driver’s License is required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge necessary; familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems beneficial
  • Possess the ability to work independently but be a team player
