Elizabeth Wende Breast Clinic Recognized for Superior Performance
Feb. 2007 - The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) has presented the Elizabeth Wende Breast Clinic (EWBC) with a Certificate of Superior Performance. Practice economics has forced all medical groups to look for new ways to improve both efficiency and effectiveness of care. EWBC has been recognized for superior performance in the areas of productivity, capacity, staffing, accounts receivable and collections. The EWBC specializes in breast cancer diagnosis, which many other health care facilities are now dropping due to their inability to make a profit. Physician reimbursement from insurance providers for mammography has continually declined over the past few years. The mission of MGMA is to continually improve the performance of medical group practice professionals and the organizations they represent. Each year, MGMA provides key benchmarking data on better performing medical groups and identifies the business practices and behaviors these groups employ to achieve success. The day-to-day challenge of running any medical practice today includes financial viability, navigating regulatory demands and serving the patients in the best possible way. MGMA serves 21,000 members who lead and manage more than 12,500 organizations in which almost 270,000 physicians practice. Its diverse membership comprises administrators, CEOs, physicians in management, board members, office manager and many other management professionals. They work in medical practices and ambulatory care organizations of all sizes and types, including integrated systems and hospital- and medical school-affiliated practices << Back |
